We are seeking a highly experienced, results-driven, and safety-focused Fleet Manager – Fuel Tanker Operations to oversee the efficient management of our fuel tanker fleet. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring safe, compliant, and cost-effective transport operations while maintaining the highest standards of customer service, operational excellence, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and manage the daily operations of the fuel tanker fleet.
  • Ensure full compliance with road transport regulations, dangerous goods transportation requirements, and company policies.
  • Monitor vehicle utilization, productivity, and operational performance to maximize fleet efficiency.
  • Supervise and support drivers, ensuring adherence to safety procedures, fatigue management, and company standards.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to minimize vehicle downtime.
  • Monitor fuel consumption and implement measures to improve fuel efficiency and reduce operational costs.
  • Prepare operational reports, fleet performance analyses, and key performance indicators (KPIs) for management. 
  • Coordinate driver recruitment, induction, performance management, and ongoing training.
  • Liaise with clients, suppliers, workshop personnel, and regulatory authorities to ensure seamless operations.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Transport & Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Professional qualifications in Fleet Management, Transport Management, or Logistics will be an added advantage. 

Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience managing a commercial fleet, with at least 3 years in fuel tanker or hazardous goods transportation.
  • Strong understanding of fleet maintenance, transport operations, and logistics planning.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Thorough knowledge of fuel tanker operations and hazardous cargo transportation. 
  • Strong leadership, decision-making, and people management skills.
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
